Three kingfishers, three continents.

Kingfishers are found across the globe, and there is a great amount of diversity within the family.

This first shot here is of a pied kingfisher in South Africa. Its muted black and white plumage stands in sharp contrast to the oriental dwarf kingfisher in the second shot, 6,000 miles away in the forests of Borneo. Finally, the humble UK kingfisher, photographed just a couple of hours’ drive away from my home here in Scotland.

Isn't nature wonderful.
